It is very common to consider losing some of the extra pounds you are carrying. A key to successfully dropping the pounds is to get active. Many people turn to the internet and find sites such as http://www.fatlossfactor.com to help guide them towards the body that they desire while others take the journey on their own. In order for someone to take off the pounds and keep them off they can not rely on the idea of a diet by itself.
If a person wants to find out the best way that they should use to lose weight they can check with their doctor or hire a personal trainer. Effective and healthy weight loss exercise is based on progressive resistance principle. The main concerns with working out are not to do so much that you injure yourself, but rather find a level that is comfortable for the individual so that they can and want to do it on a regular basis.
A regular workout regimen is the best defense against the middle aged spread that every adult dreads facing one day in the future. Message boards such as the biggest loser weight loss forum are full of people who are trying to become their own biggest loser champion and want to share their stories. In order to stop being overweight a person must decide that they will take the steps needed to change it.
Don’t fear strength training because you believe that it will add more weight because it does not, muscles burn more calories than fat. Some people believe that the second effective weight loss exercise is the classic squat while others swear that a six pack ab exercise program is the only way to get fit and trim and still others believe that the best weight loss exercise is walking on a treadmill everyday for 30 minutes, or maybe swimming a ton of laps in the pool. To find the optimal exercise plan for yourself, pick something that you find fun to do so you will want to exercise.
Go to a health spa and have fun. You can get a lot out of a health spa. At a fitness club a person can do their workout and feel the support of the other members. When you are in a gym there are plenty of people who can offer assistance. You’ll never be able to imagine how much you can learn.
Something people need to realize is the importance of finding a fitness regimen that is made for their life and not someone else’s. If a person finds any time to be active they are better than they were before. Before beginning any type of exercise program a person needs to consult their physician to make sure it is safe for them to do so. Exercise is also good for your circulation and many other systems of your body will also benefit.
Play ball, chase, or play with a hula hoop with your children or grand children every day for about an hour or so, they’ll think you’re cool and will love the time you spend with them, and you will all be getting great exercise. .
So, in reality, what would be the best weight loss exercise for one person, might not work at all for another person because what is best for you is what you love or enjoy doing, and not all people enjoy doing the same things. No one wants to do something that they don’t like to do and will find ways to avoid doing it, so make sure that your program is something that you look forward to everyday and not something that you try to avoid.
You can lose weight by eating right alone, but you can’t tone your flab without working out so it is time to embrace the need to workout. It’ll change the way you look at the world, and can even change your life.

Recently one of my students sent me an e-mail with an interesting signature line which stated:
“The best things in life - aren’t things at all.”
I’d heard this before, but gave it some thought and just wanted to write for a bit.

It’s pretty important. It’s our very own “personal philosophy” that is being shaped.
Here is a paraphrase of something I read (can’t remember where) but I liked it:

  1. Our personal philosophy helps produce the attitude we have from day to day.
  2. Our attitude - leads to the daily activitities we perform (or do not perform) or what we take part in.
  3. The daily activities we choose to take part in - will contribute to the end results that we achieve.

So then what are the most important things in life?

Is it really wealth or freedom from debt? That seems to be the focus of many.
Perhaps it’s acquiring a measure of fame or popularity with friends.
Some might say it might be emotional intimacy with someone very close.

That’s where I’ll stop for a minute. I think all of the things I mention above are quite important, but if I were to answer the question, “what are the most important thing in life,” I’d say it was “relationships.” Think about it.

I think sometimes where the challenges arrive is when we may live more by feelings than faith in God but Yes, all things considered, life is all about relationships.

Here is a random sample of how some folks may list their priorites:

A.. Money - There’s nothing wrong with money. Money can enable you to do good things. It is exceptionally good to have money (so long as it does not replace God.)
B. Freedom from mortgages and debt. (It’s a good feeling to be out of debt, but will anyone remember in 100 years from now?)
C. Relationships - (these days relationships come and go - but there is often something missing from some relationships.)
D. Long term planning - Make sure we have something left for our old age

…But I’m going to stop right there for a second.
What if we reordered the list just a little differently?

“Seek first the kingdom of God, and then all these things will be added unto you.” Now that Bible verse makes me ask why does it seem that for today’s time we have things all turned around backwords. Should a person not follow their heart? Many folks are not happy very in their current relationships and perhaps we need to reconsider the order of things based on what God thinks is important - instead of what we *think* is important.

Let’s try that again…in a different order:

A. Suppose to start with “relationships.” (First - beginning with a relationship with God through Jesus Christ).
B. Then next - genuine relationships with people that God raises up around us.
C. What about letting God help you find that perfect life partner for you?
D. Suppose next, we give attention to the friends that God raises up around us.
E. Money - does come and it goes and it’s important - but God is not interested in money (which is temporal)

What if we were to invest and focus on the things most important to God.

As God’s Spirit teaches us, renews our minds and makes us alive through ministry, Christian brotherhood and understanding God’s Word, then our philosophies can become more properly balanced. So if you look at the Bible and ask that same question, “what is the most important thing in life?”

The Bible teaches that ultimately, it is a relationship with your creator.

Many religions are all about trying to earn the right or becoming good enough for God. But the truth is God reached out to us FIRST by sending his only son, Jesus to die for the sin of people. How that God should care so much to sacrifice Jesus is a kind of love that goes beyond comprehension.

Christianity is not a traditional religion.
No, in fact it’s really not religion at all - it’s all about a living relationship with our creator.
It’s not about keeping some meticulous set of rules or earning eternal life. The Bible clearlt states that we all fall short of the glory because of the condition of sin.

Yet the Bible also says that eternal life is the free “gift of God” to all those who believe and accept His Son Jesus.

When Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross, some don’t realize that His life was NOT in fact taken away from him.
He chose to give it up in accordance to the Father’s will. He could have changed His mind at any point. He could have called 10,000 angels to destroy the world. But Jesus endured the cross and asked the Father to “forgive them for they don’t know they’re doing.”

God does not need money, or fame. It is His good pleasure for you to have an abiding relationship with Him. That word abide may seem funny but it just means, daily, daily, daily. He accepts people as they are. He is not concerned with how you look or the mistakes you’ve made. He accepts anyone and everyone who will ask him for that relationship.

Why is a relationship with God the number one “relationship” you need to consider as the most important thing?
Because once you are forgiven you can stand before God knowing when He forgives - He forgets.
The Bibles states that He throws your sin into the sea of forgetfulness and regardless of who accuses you of something that you may have done wrong years ago - in the sight of God - it never even occurred. If the highest authority in the universe says you are clean - who can argue with Him?

Okay, now in summary, instead of asking what I think is most important, what do you think God cares about most?
God cares most about people.
Ordinary everyday people.
Life is all about people.
People are eternal and God cares about all people.

Remember, when we invest in caring about people rather than “things,”
then you are investing your time caring about what God cares about most.

Wishing you the very best,
John Alexander
