Tarot was made for card games, not for divination!
Paul O’Brien has been feeding bullshit to the media!
O’Brien is the CEO of Tarot.com and here are some examples of the bullshit he’s been feeding to the mainstream media.
“There is an intricate web of intimate relationships and correspondences between Tarot and Astrology.”
THIS IS BULLSHIT!
Beliefnet.com quotes from Paul O’Brien:
“Most people who play cards don’t realize that our modern deck of 52 cards is derived from the Tarot deck.”
THIS IS BULLSHIT!
“It was masquerading as a card game for a long time because people could be burned at the stake for using it. And the court cards are modeled after the different royalty of Italian at the time — there’s a pope card, for example. It comes out of medieval Europe and its growth coincides with the printing press and the ability to print cards. It basically coexisted with the Church but was never part of any religion. It was more related to alchemy than religion.”
THIS IS BULLSHIT!
The Brandchannel.com article, Tarot answers by Alycia de Mesa used O’Brien as a source for its article
From the Brandchannel article:
“The Tarot itself is a deck of 78, spiritually meaningful cards whose origins go back over 3,000 years to the Near and Far East.”
THIS IS BULLSHIT!
Here is the evidence based truth about tarot cards!
This is the truth that Paul O’Brien will not tell you!
Tarot cards were not intended for divination!
They were intended for no other purpose than for playing a card game!

Tarot game websites are being censorsed by internet filter software. This is one example. ALso when we teach other people how to play games, sometimes people think its satanic or occultism. The idea that those cards are only used for divination and not gaming is the one thats damaging. The idea most people have of tarot cards needs to change.

How are these stereotypes bad for gameplayers?
Joszuaprocess on February 11, 2009 at 8:21 pm
It is actually common knowledge. Most decks booklets give a brief history of the Tarot explaining it’s origins as an Medieval card game. Aside that, even the least astute observer should be able to draw parallels between the Minor Arcana and the common Bicycle deck.
The only person here flaunting their ignorance, sir, is you. Frankly, this kind of visceral condemnation over a trivial matter makes me wonder if you aren’t few cards short of a full deck?

I don’t a give care.. some people don’t walk under a ladder, some people do. it’s what they believe, and it’s up to them.
but ok, if you say so. i just don’t agree with u saying paul o brien is a bullshit person. sounds too desperate for me

Also there is no proven connection between alchemy and tarot cards.
Tarockspieler on February 17, 2009 at 7:23 pm
Not everyone knows that yet. Most people who read tarot cards knows they were made for games. But the general public still does not know about it and the mainstream media usually does not tell the whole truth about the cards.

I think everybody knows that! it’s just a fun thing (or even serious thing for some people) to do divination with tarot. I know the minor arcana is actually the usual game card whilst the major is more into the alchemic side.. but making spam videos with no relation with the title can be very annoying. This is almost like those users who try to persuade people to atheism or to christianity … just let people choose what they want.
BUT!!!!!! happy thanksgiving to you too
Tarockspieler on February 21, 2009 at 5:05 pm
I’m not a tarot hater. Card reading is really a perversion of tarot. The cards were really intended for games which are still played today.Happy Thanksgiving
rochelimit55555 on February 23, 2009 at 7:21 pm
there’s something wrong with this tarot hater guy. get over it.

There really isnt a connection between Ronald and tarot. Also there really is no valid connection between the occult and tarot. The tarot was really made for card games. Because the mainstream media will not tell people the truth, we members of the Ronald McDonald Brigade will post these videos to educate people about the real truth about tarot cards!
kaypain42 on March 1, 2009 at 6:27 am
my dog went crazy when he heard this ….. I’m still not getting link between McRonald and Tarot Cards…did I miss sometime…
I now pronounce this as the weirdest fucking video on youtube history

i demand explanation for this faggotry
SkeptiGamer on March 10, 2009 at 2:39 pm
OK, there are more important issues. But if there is a movement against the comic sans typeface, why shouldn’t there be a tarot truth movement? I think truth in tarot is more important than comic sans. Besides its hard to put Ronald Mcdonald in the service of these more serious issues!
NapalmStiks2Children on March 12, 2009 at 11:15 pm

tarot4games on March 15, 2009 at 11:44 am
clowns are to make people laugh and not to sell hamburgers and tarot cards are really for card games and not the occult. this is the point. I’m the one who started this!
KarrieDreammind on March 16, 2009 at 7:17 pm
Ok… and Ronald is the mascot for the occult, is that it? And for that reason the whole video consists of nothing but completely pointless edited footage of the clown of McDonald’s?
tarot4games on March 19, 2009 at 5:28 am
What does the occult really have to do with tarot? the cards were really made for a game
Tarockspieler on March 21, 2009 at 12:20 pm
No. You are the dumb ass. This right brain nonsense is bullshit!
thunderc78 on March 21, 2009 at 1:57 pm
your dumb, and you make shitty videos. Randomness is the key to the right brain. Your a dumb ass.
user8881 on March 24, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Hamburgers make Mr. McDonald crazy.
RegulusPure on March 25, 2009 at 3:59 am
HEHEHE. This was mesmerizing. The reason people use tarot cards to read fortunes is because of it’s capacity for randomness, and leaving things up to chance. So in a way, their random fate chooses what cards show up. You could read fortunes in a random number generator if you want, or by spinning around in a circle. Why Tarot makes such a good medium is because of the cool art which is usually printed on it. =B
KarrieDreammind on March 28, 2009 at 5:33 am
I don’t get it! xD What does tarrot have to do with McDonald’s clown??
